About the Artist:

Van Gelderen was born in Brussels 1905. Van Gelderen studied at the Sint Lucas Academy and the Académie Royale des Beaux- Arts Anderlecht in his hometown Brussel.

The work of the Brussels artist Simon van Gelderen consists of a thematic variety: he painted – in an impressionistically style – landscapes, city views, church spaces and still life. His paintings were once described as spontaneous, lively, elegant, realistic, in an attractive color palette and like a pursuit of virtuosity”.
