Pierre Camille Gontier was a flower painter who started at the Paris Salon in 1863 and exhibited there until 1884. He was one of the flower painters. Classically crafted, his compositions are rich and painted in bright colors with strong chiaroscuros. Works by Pierre Camille Gontier are kept at the Museum of Saint-Omer and at the Bowes Museum at Barnard Castle in England.
