Biography

Wiktor Korecki is a Polish landscape painter.

He attended middle school in Kyiv. He studied there at the Drawing School of Nikolai Murashka. In 1921 he settled in Warsaw, where he established his own studio, which burned down in 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising. During the Second Republic, he participated in exhibitions of the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw. After the Uprising, through the Pruszkow camp, he was sent to a forced labor camp in Leipzig. He escaped from the camp and spent almost two years in Bohemian Moravia. After the war he settled in Komorow, then in Milanowek.

He painted mainly landscapes, especially of the Mazovia region. His painting work was influenced by the paintings of Jozef Chelmonski and Jozef Rapacki.

His paintings can be found in Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, American and even Mexican painting collections.
