About the Artist:

Heinrich Böhmer studied from 1876 till 1883 at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. First he started with Andreas Mueller, Heinrich Lauenstein and Peter Jansen.
Later he moved in 1878 in the landscape class of Eugen Gustav Dücker where he was from 1881 to 1883 his master student. In his landscape paintings Heinrich Böhmer processed almost exclusively motifs from the Harz, the Eifel, the Vogelgebirge and the Odenwald. He had previously recorded in studies.
Böhmer exhibited almost regularly at the Düsseldorf exhibitions, the Great Berlin Art Exhibition and the Berlin Akademie Art Exhibition.
With its light-flooded, atmospheric, partly idealized forest landscapes, which reflect extremely naturalistic particular botanical details, he gained great prominence and popularity, which lasted well into the 20th centuries.
He was a member of the All-German Art Cooperative, the Association Dusseldorf artists to mutual support dund help (VDK) and the artist-club Malkasten in Dusseldorf (1883 – 1922/23).
