The German Landscape painter Oscar Leu was born in Düsseldorf 1864. He was a student of his father August Wilhelm Leu. He studied at the Academy of Arts in Berlin and in the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Karl Raupp. Later, he worked as a freelance artist, primarily as a landscape painter with a preference for mountains, working in Munich and Dessau. Oscar Leu is an example for a mix of late romantic with impressionism style from the Munich School.
