The Belgian painter Louise Coupe is the niece of the painter Alfons De Clercq (1868-1945). Alfons De Clercq is the cousin of the painter Pieter Jan De Clercq (1891-1964). She got educated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten) in Ghent and was a pupil of De Keghel and Frans Mortelmans.
She had a preference for still life with flowers and fruits. Among other things, she took place in the salons of the three years in Antwerp 1920 and 1926.
