Karl Kaufmann is an Austrian painter who was an pupil of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He worked mostly in Venice, then he continued in Northern Europe (Norway), The Netherlands, Germany (Franconia, Gdansk, Königsberg) and often in Italy (Naples, Rome, Venice). These numerous trips were certainly the source of cues for his numerous landscapes, including a remarkable number of views of Venice. Since 1900 Karl Kaufmann has lived constantly in Vienna. Kaufmann is a splendid landscape architect, with particular meticulousness and refined style. Among his favorite landscapes certainly the city of Venice, the mountains and the woods.
