Frederick William Meyer was a British painter who was born in 1869. Meyer lived in Putney, and specialised in coastal scenes of England and Brittany. He won a Gold Medal at the Crystal Palace Picture Gallery in 1879 for his Autumn Twilight. He was especially good at quiet pictures of the coast by twilight and moonlight. Many of his works were auctioned at auction houses. The artist died in 1922.
